Reproduction Patterns from Museum Collections:

I hope you enjoy our selection of 19th and 20th century reproduction patterns from a number of American museum collections, such as the Shelburne Museum, Old Sturbridge Village and the Vermont Quilt Festival series.

The construction varies from moderate to difficult depending on the quilt design.  Some require appliqué as well as piecing, for example.  I think the Elizabeth Green and Sarah Fitch quilts are more approachable for the beginner while the Pincushion Quilt (which I love) involves curved piecing which once mastered is not as scary as it seems.  Each quilt is beautiful in its own way and a wonderful project as a means to appreciate the patience required to construct them using traditional methods.

Each pattern comes with complete instructions for both traditional hand piecing and machine piecing.  Where required, they also include templates and stencils.  Each also includes historical information on the quilt and the maker.

Please click on an image of the pattern to see the pattern in a larger format.  You can also click on the title of the pattern for some notes on it as well as the supplies needed to create the quilt.

They really are beautiful quilt patterns and truly will be an heirloom quilt once completed.  I hope you enjoy making them!

PIGMA PENS:

We also have available a small range of Sakura's Pigma pens, the standard for permanance when you are working with ink.  Since some of these quilts do require ink in their creation, I believe you would want the best pens available - Pigma pens.

The ink in these pens are waterproof, chemical proof and fade resistant.  The ink does not smear when dry.
